Those who danced…

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

When you’ve found freedom, a natural joy and peace lives continuously in your heart. But those who haven’t found what you have don’t get it. And although not everyone will embrace your freedom, the good news is, some will be drawn to you and want to know more!

This is the work of the Holy Spirit drawing others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! Many are saved, but few have found true freedom.

From Facing the Mirror:

The Bible says, “The kingdom of God isn’t about eating and drinking–it’s [about] righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you too” (Romans 14:17-18, NLT). Pleasing God with your faith starts with righteousness–your simple faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Then it’s a chain reaction from righteousness to peace to joy! If you’re lacking peace and joy, you can be sure there’s a snag in your belief system regarding righteousness. [Facing the Mirror, page 187]

So if you’ve found the truth, dance! Lead others to the same freedom you’ve found.

If you’re not there yet, don’t give up! The music won’t stop playing.

Question: What does the quote above say to you?

It has always puzzled me when I see Christians who just aren’t dancing the spiritual dance of freedom. Once we’re truly set free, we just can’t help but dance, and the things of this world do lose their luster. Then, and then only … I do believe … are we really ready to go into His service … all the way …. full time …. and dancing … “tracing the rainbow through the rain”!

I’ve never heard that quote, but I love it :) And I agree about being puzzled about others, except my second reaction is a little sadness. It’s a shame, isn’t it? So, the conclusion is, keep dancing until they hear too!

The quote is from the old hymn, O LOVE THAT WILL NOT LET ME GO. This hymn, like so many of that era, carries a message through the verses. Years ago, a lady told me that she’d given up on God after a heartbreaking divorce and sudden unemployment. She felt nudged back to church … which she fought … until one day she decided to slip in late (unnoticed). When she came in, they were singing this hymn. God’s love just washed over her … as she raced toward the altar.

YES, we must keep dancing — that more might know this loving God we serve!

I know that dance Mrs. Daphne! After 38 yrs. of guilt and condemnation, the Lord set me free! I had an abortion when I was 17 yrs. old and never dealt with that part of my life until the Lord got a hold of me and said, “it’s time” I took this bible study the church offers for abortion recovery called, “Surrendering Your Secret” and finally I received my emotional and physical healing! My scars were finally redeemed!! I danced and danced and danced and still dancing, Look what the Lord has done, he set me free! No more guilt and condemnation! I have led a bible study for the girls/ladies that have had abortions. I AM FREE! I AM FREE! And now, there are two other ladies doing the same dance of freedom! It was one of the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but I did it! I faced my giant!! I slayed my giant! All for the glory of my Lord and Savior!
    Thank you for your blog!

That is an awesome story Maria! And isn’t fabulous to see others find the same freedom you found?! That’s what brings me the most joy :) I’m glad you are still dancing! And showing others how to hear the music too. Love you!
